General Labrador Retriever Information

Labs in general have a great love for people, friendly temperament, outgoing personality and a plaful nature.  This is probably why they are the most common breed in the US!  This also means that labs need lots of exercise, mental stimulation, and human contact.  Any sign of aggression or shyness is not typical of the breed.  Labs are smart and will test boundaries. If firm, consistent rules, and lots of love are provided... a Fryer's Kansas Labrador will quickly become your best friend!!!

A Labrador that is going to be your family member, should have a strong body and a stable temperament.  Our labs have had their DNA tested (by PawPrint Genetics) and come with health certifications for a large variety of genetic disorders.  Please see the "Litters" page for more info.

You should always look at the parents when picking a puppy.  Both parents are our family members available for potential buyers to see temperament and physical characteristics  .

Their character allows, tolerates, and forgives everything from a ear-pulling toddler to the annoying, yapping, lap-dog next door.  Labs are adaptable and versatile, and with time/patience they can do just about anything you ask-they want to please you!

Puppies are adorable; there is nothing more lovable!  They also chew, have accidents, and find naughty ways to entertain themselves.  Raising a puppy is a big commitment.  Please check out our page, "Are you ready for a puppy?" for more info.

Labrador Retrievers are know for their abilty to hunt.  However, we want to be clear:  If you are looking for a lab to be used soley for hunting/working purposes, please look elsewhere.  Fryer Kansas Labradors are family dogs, and have been selectively bred for those characteristics!  We can recommend some breeders of pedigreed hunting dogs if that is what you are looking for.
